[Reading room, Boston Architectural Club] [graphic]. [ca. 1910]

A photograph of a room in the Boston Architectural Club at 16 Somerset Street. The room may be the Club's Reading Room. Room is furnished with two long tables with periodicals on them and Mission-style sofas and chairs along the walls. Architectural drawings and photographs hang on the walls. In 1910, the Boston Architectural Club purchased the building at 16 Somerset St. and the two rooms on the second floor were fashioned into one large reading room. The second floor also functioned as the headquarters and offices of the Boston Society of Architects. The building was demolished in the early 1960s when the BAC moved to its current site on Boston's Newbury Street. The Boston Architectural Club was reincorporated as the Boston Architectural Center (BAC) in 1944.
